Introducing The Learning in Harmony Teacher Training Programme

Learning in Harmony Teacher Training is an 11-month, in-school training programme leading to QTS and PGCE

It’s an expert-led programme designed by an ‘Outstanding’ national lead provider for NPQ and ECT

Our aim is to support recruitment and nurture the next generation of talented teachers in Essex.

How our programme supports trainees

Blended model: Trainees will gain evidence-informed knowledge that they can apply in their school placements. The approach blends academic rigour with practical application. 

Support of an expert coach: Trainees will have regular instructional coaching with their in-school mentor. In these sessions they’ll receive bitesize pieces of feedback about how to improve.

Time to rehearse: Deliberate Practice is at the heart of our trainee experience. That means time is set aside to rehearse in a safe space before going live in the classroom.

Subject specificity: We support trainees to develop their subject expertise in several ways. These include taught subject clinics and subject-specific mentoring. In fact, we think subject specificity is so important that 50% of our training will focused on subjects.

The assessment tasks enabled the candidate to demonstrate a range of transferable skills that would make them highly suitable for teacher training.  Providing time in a classroom as part of the process, observing and supporting the class teacher, was an important part as it allowed the candidate to experience the environment and get a first-hand feel of the role they are about to take on”.
